UFC 295 Betting Odds

Here’s a detailed look at each of the main card fights, including the best odds for each fight.

Jiri Prochazka vs. Alex Pereira odds

  • Jiri Prochazka: +100 (BetUS)
  • Alex Pereira: -130 (BetUS)

Prochazka, after a shoulder injury hiatus, is returning with a 3-0 UFC record and a 13-fight win streak, facing Pereira who’s had an impressive year, including a win to claim the middleweight title.

This fight is a stylistic showdown; Prochazka’s unpredictable, fluid combat style contrasts Pereira’s structured, fundamental approach, both possessing knockout power.

Sergei Pavlovich vs. Tom Aspinall odds

  • Sergei Pavlovich: -110 (BetUS)
  • Tom Aspinall: -120 (BetUS)

In the co-main event, the interim heavyweight title is up for grabs as Sergei Pavlovich faces Tom Aspinall. Pavlovich is riding a wave of first-round finishes, with an incredible reach that has served him well in his recent bouts.

Aspinall, known for his all-around talent, has sharp boxing and grappling, making a quick return after an injury with a win in July. They represent the top ascending talents in the heavyweight division, promising a battle that could define future title contentions.

Jessica Andrade vs. Mackenzie Dern odds

  • Jessica Andrade: +165 (BetUS)
  • Mackenzie Dern: -195 (BetUS)

The women’s strawweight bout features Jessica Andrade versus Mackenzie Dern, a fight critical for both fighters. Andrade, a former champion, is on a three-fight losing streak, looking to get back on track.

Dern comes off a win against Angela Hill, and though she has had mixed results in her recent fights, her grappling prowess remains her strongest asset. This bout could have significant implications for the 115-pound division.

Matt Frevola vs. Benoit Saint-Denis odds

  • Matt Frevola: +190 (BetUS)
  • Benoit Saint-Denis: -230 (BetUS)

The lightweight bout between Matt Frevola and Benoit Saint Denis promises to be an electrifying opener for the main card.

Frevola, after a series of first-round stoppages, is on a surge, while Saint Denis, with a string of finishes since moving to lightweight, looks to cap off his year with another victory. Expect high-octane action from the get-go, with the potential for a spectacular finish.

Diego Lopes vs. Pat Sabatini odds

  • Diego Lopes: -110 (BetUS)
  • Pat Sabatini: -120 (BetUS)

Finally, featherweights Diego Lopes and Pat Sabatini square off in what promises to be a strategic ground battle. Lopes has shown dynamic aggression in his grappling, while Sabatini employs a more methodical approach.

Both fighters are on the cusp of breaking into the top 15, making this bout a potential stepping stone to higher rankings.

The post UFC Odds: Leon Edwards opens as underdog in potential matchup with Colby Covington appeared first on The Body Lock.

Oddsmakers have faith that the next UFC title challenger in the welterweight division will get the job done. Despite some criticism from fans and media, Dana White has doubled down that Colby Covington will get the next title shot against reigning champion Leon Edwards.

Edwards last defeated his rival and former champion Kamaru Usman in their trilogy fight at UFC 286. Covington is coming off a win over Jorge Masvidal at last year’s UFC 272.

At UFC 286 while Edwards was defending his title for the first time, Covington stepped up and weighed in as the backup in the case one of the fighters sustained a last-minute injury or failed to make weight. While both Usman and Edwards made it to the octagon, Covington’s efforts were rewarded with the promise of the next title fight.

Soon after the news broke, oddsmakers opened Edwards at +165 and Covington at -190. The UFC betting odds for this fight have since narrowed, with Edwards now at -105 and Covington at -115.

Special Offer: Sign up to BetUS today and get an exclusive sign-up offer worth up to $2,500

In both cases one would have to put down slightly more than they could return, on Edwards, $105 could return a $100 profit, and on Covington putting down $115 would return a $100 profit.

For a long time, Leon Edwards was hailed as the dark horse of the division with his supreme striking skills and fight IQ, however questions regarding how he could do against the division’s best wrestlers circulated. Although he beat arguably the best of them in Usman twice, the doubts seem to still linger somewhere, as it is Covington’s high-paced wrestling skills that pose the biggest threat to the champion.

The post UFC Odds: Dustin Poirier opens as slight underdog to Justin Gaethje despite winning first fight appeared first on The Body Lock.

Surprising to some, Dustin Poirier opened as a betting underdog in his second matchup with Justin Gaethje. The first time the two met was in 2018 at UFC on FOX when both men were still upcoming contenders.

Poirier won that meeting by TKO in the fourth round, although they had a competitive bout up to that point. The rematch will be over five years in the making, this time a main event for the UFC’s BMF title at UFC 291 on July 29, 2023.

Despite losing back in 2018, Justin Gaethje opened early as the favorite at -125 to Dustin Poirier’s +105. The UFC betting odds have since shifted the other way with Poirier now sitting around -130 on most sites and Gaethje the new underdog at +106. This means that to win $100 on a Poirier victory would cost $130 and a $100 bet on Gaethje would return $106 in an upset.

Special Offer: Sign up to BetUS today and get an exclusive sign-up offer worth up to $2,500

Although it may be surprising to some that Poirier opened as the underdog, it is not surprising that regardless the line is tight. After their fight on FOX, the two fighters have shared eerily similar success in the UFC.

Both men have since gone 6-2 with four finishes and two decisions. Both defeated Michael Chandler and earned interim gold before failing to unify the belts. Both lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira, but are coming off of wins going into their rematch.

A rematch between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko has been confirmed by UFC president Dana White, setting the stage for another thrilling UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship fight.

Despite being a significant underdog, Grasso (+750) capitalized on a poorly executed spinning back kick by Shevchenko (-600), taking her back and securing a rear-naked choke that led to Shevchenko’s first submission loss in the UFC.

Speaking at the latest UFC post-fight press conference, White confirmed plans for the rematch, although a specific timeline or location has yet to be announced.

The thrilling clash between former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and rising star Khamzat Chimaev has the mixed martial arts (MMA) world on the edge of their seats. They’ve now been scheduled to fight at UFC 294 on October 21.

The fight has a compelling narrative attached to it, as it presents a potential turning point for both fighters’ careers. Usman, known as “The Nigerian Nightmare”, is looking to bounce back from back-to-back championship losses to current division kingpin, Leon Edwards, after five consecutive title defenses. A victory over Chimaev would undoubtedly put him back in the title contention conversation.

“It’s a fight that Usman wants, that’s no secret,” UFC president Dana White said during the UFC Vegas 73 press conference last weekend. “Usman literally came to the office to lobby for that fight. I told him I love him. Usman is one of the best guys we’ve ever worked with. I love working with the guy. Look at all the things he’s accomplished.”

Fight Preview

First up, Amanda “The Lioness” Nunes. With a record of 22-5-0, Nunes has proven time and again why she’s considered one of the greatest fighters in UFC history. Standing 5’8″ with a reach of 69″, she’ll have an edge when it comes to reach in this fight.

What’s more, Nunes lands a whopping 4.40 significant strikes per minute with 51% accuracy, and absorbs just 2.75 in return, according to UFC Stats. Her takedown average per 15-minute fight is 2.61, with a takedown accuracy of 56%, and she defends against takedowns 82% of the time. And let’s not forget her submission average of 0.81.

Next in line, Irene Aldana. Although an underdog, her record of 14-6-0 doesn’t tell the whole story. She’s slightly taller than Nunes at 5’9″, but with a slightly smaller reach of 68″.

What stands out about Aldana is her striking – she lands 5.39 significant strikes per minute, albeit with a lower accuracy of 39%. Her strikes-per-minute rate is enough for her to be ranked #4 in the history of UFC women’s bantamweight fighters.

However, she absorbs more strikes per minute at 5.71, which may be a concern against a powerful striker like Nunes. But interestingly, she has a high striking defense rate of 61%.

Aldana attempts just 0.2 takedowns per 15-minute fight, as she clearly prefers to keep the fight standing. And she’s capable of doing so with an impressive 81% takedown defense rate through her UFC career so far. Aldana is also less likely to attempt submissions during a fight, with a submission average rate of 0.3 per 15-minute fight.

As for Aldana, she’s kept her cards close to her chest and hasn’t made public comments about the fight yet.
